3,000 years ago, a man named Ulysses and his companions finally return home after a long and weary battle. Reaching their beloved destination was not an easy task but through perseverance and companionship they overcome obstacles and misfortune growing and evolving immensely.

On December 20th 2017, Metempsychosis tells this story through ink and acrylic, splitting it into 64 canvases to be discovered in Tresor.

THE JOURNEY

1/64 Oh muse, please tell the story

2/64 Of those who live life on their own path,

3/64 here the journey started

4/64 will the journey end here as such?

5/64 So many adventures they lived

6/64 sharing dreams with companions

7/64 by new discoveries fulfilled

8/64 moving fast to their destinies.

9/64 Like Ulysses sailing toward Ithaca

10/64 fighting against a world of anger

11/64 and mysteries coming from every side

12/64 feeling excitement for a new life

13/64 Living the journey until the end

14/64 and new encounters to spark a light

15/64 feeling the body and nothing else

16/64 finding the real spirit, and old clothes behind.

17/64 Like the Greeks in their journey lasted years

18/64 they left Troy and learned to be free

19/64 despite plots and many tears

20/64 through harbors where travelers meet.

21/64 For many and long years

22/64 built up courage with the challenges

23/64 sailing until the land is near

24/64 with timeless energy to face the hurdles.

25/64 Suffering miseries and pains

26/64 moved by inner sense of will

27/64 with life running through the veins

28/64 with comrades met along the way.

29/64 Like the Greek expedition long defeated

30/64 before getting even closer

31/64 with running winds to be helped

32/64 reach their beloved place.

33/64 Naked but dressed in beliefs

34/64 that the journey, the pain is worth;

35/64 Here is the story of a group of friends

36/64 making the way toward their path.

37/64 Through large tides in the adverse seas

38/64 watching the sirens but not wasting time

39/64 mastering hurdles of unknown lands

40/64 with recklessness every night.

41/64 So many places took out the breath

42/64 inwardly hungry like travelers seethe

43/64 giving a meaning to the events

44/64 as there were gods behind them.

45/64 Lengthy as life the journey will be

46/64 via mountains, lands and the wide open sea

47/64 knowing new people, creatures and wind

48/64 opening paths that before were blind.

49/64 Son of pain was the unlucky Ulysses called

50/64 so many troubles by life were brought

51/64 as Homer in his story has told

52/64 but every suffering a lesson taught.

53/64 You can choose where to go,

54/64 what to chase and whom to know;

55/64 until you will find your real self

56/64 by exploring time in great depth;

57/64 as you grow and discover your art,

58/64 your journey will be the only important part.

59/64 No matter where your own Odyssey start

60/64 if you focus on where you will pass

61/64 as the sun sets and the sun rises

62/64 thrusting earth and sky apart

63/64 you will reach the farthest end of home

64/64 singing for your time too.

Original poem for Metempsychosis,

The Journey (G. Sofo Dec 2017)

We hope that you may be inspired by this tale, a reminder that whatever your dreams are, you can most certainly achieve them. At times the road may seem endless and the times may be rough, but if you keep pursuing them, you will appreciate that the journey is what truly matters.
